FRENCH LANGUAGE TESTING
Austin International School is recognized as a test center for the DELF, and DALF, diplomas. All tests and exams adhere to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages' levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2. The DELF and DALF exams award a diploma certifying language proficiency, which remains valid for life. These assessments are administered at the Alliance Française de Seattle. To enroll, please select your desired proficiency level from the options below and proceed with the registration process.
DELF (Diplôme d’Etudes en Langue Française) and DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française) are official qualifications awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify the competency of candidates from outside France in the French language.
These certificates are valid for life. DELF and DALF consist of six independent certificates that correspond to the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Depending on the achieved level, the DELF can significantly enhance one's curriculum vitae (CV) and facilitate employment opportunities in French-speaking companies.
Specifically, passing the DELF B1 enables eligibility for French nationality, while achieving DELF B2, and increasingly DALF C1, opens doors to admission into French, European, or Francophone universities, as well as certain grandes écoles.
DELF Prim – Levels A1.1 – A1 – A2 (ages 8-12)
DELF Junior – levels A1-A2-B1-B2 (ages 13-17)
DELF TP – levels A1-A2-B1-B2 (18 and over)
DALF - levels C1-C2
TCF - this is a scale type test that can give results between A1 and C2
SPANISH LANGUAGE TESTS
DELE Spanish Diplomas are official titles certifying a degree of competence and mastery of the Spanish language, granted by Spain's Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport. The Instituto Cervantes organizes examination sessions, while the Universidad de Salamanca in Spain designs the exams and is in charge of corrections and the final evaluation of all exams.
The DELE exams are designed following the guidelines of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) and the Manual for relating exams to the CEFR, both works of the Council of Europe.
The repertoire of linguistic content that can be included in the DELE exams is outlined in the Curriculum Plan of the Cervantes Institute.
Levels for Spanish (NRE) have been developed by the Cervantes Institute based on the CEFR descriptors. The DELE Diplomas cover all levels of the CEFR:
